What Is BoatBid and How Does It Work?
BoatBid is part of Boatshed.com and combines elements of a traditional auction with the established Boatshed brokerage process.
It's designed to give boats additional marketing exposure while encouraging potential purchasers to place bids.
Here's how it works:
1. Enter your boat – If your boat is already listed with Boatshed, you can enter it into the upcoming auction with your agreement.
2. Agree on a reserve price – Before entering, you'll agree on the minimum price you're prepared to accept for your boat.
3. Get additional exposure – Your boat will feature in the dedicated online BoatBid catalogue and may benefit from additional marketing ahead of the auction.
4. Buyers place their bids – During the auction, interested purchasers can place bids online.
5. The normal brokerage process continues – If the reserve is met, you're committed to selling under the BoatBid terms, with the usual Boatshed sales process following the auction.
Importantly, BoatBid doesn't mean selling your boat to the highest bidder at any price. Your agreed reserve price protects you from having to accept a lower amount, while giving potential buyers the opportunity to bid.
