The yacht is powered by a four-cylinder Volvo Penta D2-55 diesel engine rated at 55 hp, with approximately 4,600 recorded hours. The engine number stated in the inventory is 5103972169. Power is transmitted through a Volvo MS130S-B saildrive to a three-blade folding Volvo propeller.
The engine is installed in a well-insulated compartment and benefits from particularly good access from the interior and the technical area. The installation includes a hot-air extractor, an electric oil-drain pump, a remotely positioned seawater inlet valve, an additional engine-start control in the technical area and an interior engine control at the chart table.
Recorded maintenance includes replacement or servicing of the damper and injectors in 2016, the exhaust elbow and saildrive seal in 2017, the heat exchanger in 2019 and the Volvo waterlock with anode renewal in 2020. The cooling-water intake is arranged directly rather than through the saildrive, in accordance with Volvo recommendations. These dates are based on the supplied inventory and should be checked against the available invoices and service records.
Fuel capacity is approximately 375 litres. The electrical installation includes five separate battery banks, a Victron Phoenix Smart Charger 12/50, Mastervolt and Victron battery monitors, Victron Argofet charge distribution and a Volvo 115 A alternator.
A 3.5 kVA Whisper generator, with approximately 657 recorded hours, complements the onboard energy system. Its cylinder head and valves were reportedly serviced in 2020 and its starter in 2021. Renewable charging is provided by an ATMB D400 wind generator and approximately 270 W of solar panels with dedicated regulators.
The photographs show a clean and accessible installation, with no significant external leakage visible in the areas photographed. This visual observation does not replace operational checks, a sea trial or an independent mechanical inspection.

Thierry from Boatshed Sudmed and Boatshed Midicanals is pleased to present for sale this Nordship 40 DS, this yachts enjoy an excellent reputation among discerning sailors, particularly for their build quality, which is well above the usual production-boat standard. Built in Denmark by a highly regarded yard, this is a robust and capable cruising yacht, finished with exceptional care and attention to detail. The quality of the joinery, the rich mahogany interior and the overall standard of construction are immediately apparent when stepping aboard.
This 2007 example was a very pleasant surprise. She presents in very good overall condition and has been comprehensively equipped for comfortable, independent and extended cruising. At €239,000, she is one of the most attractively positioned Nordship 40 DS yachts currently available on the European market, offering a particularly compelling combination of build quality, overall condition and equipment.
Her panoramic deck saloon is one of her greatest assets. Bright and open to the surroundings, it provides excellent visibility and makes the yacht particularly enjoyable both under way and at anchor, whatever the season. The warm and beautifully crafted interior offers two genuine double cabins, two heads compartments and an impressive amount of storage.
This Nordship is not only elegant; she is also exceptionally well equipped for bluewater cruising and self-sufficient living aboard. Her inventory includes a generator, watermaker, heating, solar panels, wind generator, washing machine, bow thruster, electric winch, tender with outboard, Code 0 and an extensive navigation electronics package.
