The twin Volvo Penta D3 diesel inboard engines have only 270 hours each. This vessel is a hybrid model that features an H-Drive upgrade, for a total of 3 x 13.3kw batteries for maximum electric cruising. This vessel is capable of cruising at up to 6.5knots for approximately 30NM on purely electric drive.
While under diesel power, the boat engines quickly charge the large lithium-polymer battery bank, Solar panels (6 x 330 watts / 1.98 kW total) provide supplementary charging.
H-Drive System Specifications:
*2x Volvo Penta D3-2200 EVC E 162 kW / 220 HP -- 22 knots max speed
*2 x 14 kW electric motor - 6.5 knots top speed
*10 kW generator power in diesel mode
*Lithium-polymer battery 3 x 13.3 kWh @ 56 V
*Automatic charger 90A, inverter 7000 W/8000 VA
A separate 12v battery bank provides power for the bow and stern thruster.
The Greenline 40 with the H-Drive is incredibly efficient with the "Single Diesel + Single Electric" Hybrid Strategy: For maximum fuel efficiency without depleting the batteries, the Greenline 40 allows a unique hybrid cruising profile where you run one engine on diesel and the other on full electric. At 6.9 knots, this configuration drops total fuel consumption to just 1.19 gallons per hour. The single active diesel engine propels its side of the boat while generating enough excess energy (approx. 8 kW) to continuously charge the battery bank powering the electric motor on the opposite side.
This strategy delivers an impressive efficiency profile of nearly 6 miles per gallon, cutting both fuel costs and engine maintenance hours roughly in half compared to traditional twin-diesel motoring.
Zero-Fuel Electric Mode
When shifted into Full Electric Mode, the diesel engines decouple entirely. It can silently cruise at 4 to 6 knots on battery power alone, yielding an all-electric range of up to 32 nautical miles before requiring a recharge from solar, shore power, or the diesel engines.
Other cruising speeds and their efficiencies are listed below:
*Economy Speed (4–5 knots): Fuel consumption: 2.6 gallons per hour. At this lower RPM, the diesel engines simultaneously act as generators, generating roughly 17 kW of electricity to charge the house batteries.
*Slow Cruise (8 knots): Burns just under 5.3 gallons per hour.
*Planing / Fast Cruise (12 knots): Fuel consumption: 8 gallons per hour.
*High-Speed Cruise (16 knots): Roughly 80% engine load. Fuel consumption: 19.8 gallons per hour. At this speed, the engines generate up to 30 kW of power, capable of topping off a depleted lithium bank in about 30 minutes.
*Wide Open Throttle / Top Speed (20 knots): Fuel consumption: 28 gallons per hour.

Length overall for moorage purposes is 42 ft.
The hull and deck are constructed using a sandwich core vinyl ester resin system via vacuum infusion. This sandwich core (PET foam) reduces weight for cruising efficiency and acts as a sound insulator. Vacuum infusion ensures the optimal glass to resin ratio. Vinyl ester resin protects against osmotic blistering. Hull and deck are gelcoat.
The cockpit deck, swim platform, and caprails are natural teak. Stainless steel deck fittings and railings.
Holding, fuel, and water tanks are of poly construction.

Broker's Comments
This 2022 Greenline 40 Hybrid is a stylish and efficient cruiser that brings together hybrid propulsion technology, a bright and open layout, and thoughtful design in a coastal cruiser.
The layout is bright and open, with a single-level flow from the covered cockpit into the salon. A glass sliding door opens into a spacious main cabin featuring an L-shaped sofa and movable table to port, a well-equipped galley that connects to the cockpit when the aft window is raised, and a starboard helm station with a double-wide seat and side-deck access door. Large windows and an electrically operated overhead skylight flood the space with natural light. Down a few steps forward is the accommodations area: a forward cabin with a unique scissor berth that converts from V-berth to double, a guest cabin with two single berths that can be combined into a double, and a nicely appointed head and shower. The cockpit benefits from natural teak decking, deep storage lazarettes, and a distinctive fold-down transom that expands the aft deck area for swimming or lounging. Side decks provide easy access to the foredeck.
This Greenline 40 is in immaculate condition. The twin Volvo Penta D3-220 engines have only 270 hours, and this vessel is moored under cover and has been regularly cleaned, maintained, and serviced.
The H-Drive hybrid system has been upgraded with a third 13.3 kWh lithium-polymer battery (for a total of three), giving a fully electric cruising range of up to approximately 30–32 nautical miles at 4–6.5 knots in silence.
In hybrid mode, the single-diesel + single-electric mode can deliver roughly 6 miles per gallon at around 7 knots while continuously charging the battery bank, dramatically reducing both fuel burn and engine hours compared with conventional twin-diesel running.
Diesel mode offers planing performance up to 20 knots when needed.
Notable equipment and features include:
•Twin Volvo Penta D3-220 EVC diesels (270 hours each) with shaft drives and 4-blade bronze props
•H-Drive hybrid system: 2 × 14 kW electric motors, upgraded 3 × 13.3 kWh lithium battery bank
•6 × 330 W solar panels
•Bow and stern thrusters
•Full Raymarine suite (dual Axiom 9" chartplotters, Quantum radar, EV-2000 autopilot, AIS, DST800 transducer)
•Fusion Apollo stereo and 32" Smart TV with electric lift
•Induction cooktop, microwave, and full-size fridge/freezer
•Teak cockpit, swim platform, and caprails
•Sun pads & sun cover
•Electric windlass with chain and anchor wash
This is a low-hour, highly capable hybrid motor yacht that offers quiet electric operation, or traditional diesel performance when range or speed is required, and a bright, comfortable interior ideal for a couple or small family. It is particularly well suited to Pacific Northwest cruising, the Inside Passage, or anyone looking for a modern, efficient alternative to traditional diesel powerboats.
