The vessel is powered by two 1979 DAF 575 diesel engines, each producing approximately 110 hp.

Reported engine hours are approximately:

Starboard engine: 3,400 hours

The engines use indirect cooling and wet exhaust systems. Drive is transmitted through two conventional propeller shafts to fixed three-bladed propellers. The shafts are grease lubricated and fitted with traditional stuffing-box shaft seals.

The ultrasonic survey carried out in June 2025 reported the propeller shafts and steering installation as operational at the time of inspection. The two propellers appeared to be in good visual condition, the rudder play was considered normal and the keel showed no visible evidence of impact.

This De Valk Valkkruiser 42 Fly is a Dutch steel displacement motor cruiser built in 1979 by the Valkkruiser shipyard.

The hull, decks and superstructure are constructed of painted steel. The displacement hull form is intended to provide comfortable and stable cruising at moderate speeds.

The vessel has two hydraulically operated helm positions: one inside the wheelhouse and the other on the flybridge.

The decks are laid with teak and the windows are mounted in aluminium frames.

In 2025, the hull was repainted and new antifouling was applied.

An ultrasonic hull survey was carried out by Camps Expertises on 6 June 2025. The report describes the hull as being in satisfactory overall condition and states that the welds inspected appeared watertight.

The surveyor adopted a minimum acceptable thickness of 3.3 mm for the bottom plating, side plating and chine areas. The measurements recorded ranged from approximately 3.3 mm to 5.03 mm.

At the time of this inspection:

The steering installation was reported as operational
The propeller shafts were reported as operational
The bulkheads, floors, side frames and supports were reported as operational
The hull bottom was reported as operational
The two fixed three-bladed propellers appeared to be in good visual condition
The rudder play was considered normal
The keel showed no visible evidence of impact
The bow and stern thrusters were noted

The surveyor recommended keeping the internal hull bottom areas as dry as possible, maintaining their protective paint coating and carrying out regular visual inspections.

As stated in the report, an ultrasonic hull survey is a systematic inspection of accessible areas and provides an indication of the steel thicknesses measured. It does not guarantee the absence of defects in inaccessible or untested areas.

This Dutch steel cruiser offers spacious and welcoming accommodation, with extensive wood finishes, two cabins (1 bed 190*130 in the aft master cabin and 185*80and up to seven berths according to the layout information provided.

The reported sleeping arrangements include permanent berths in the two cabins, together with convertible sleeping areas in the saloon and dinette. The exact arrangement and dimensions of the seven berths should be confirmed before final publication.

Headroom is approximately 1.90 m throughout the main living areas and approximately 1.80 m in the cabins. It may be slightly lower around certain doorways and within the washroom areas.

The vessel has two separate washroom facilities, equipped with two electric toilets, two showers and two washbasins. This arrangement provides useful comfort and privacy when several people are staying aboard.
